About Riley Ater

I am a filmmaker based in New Jersey, with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Video Studies from George Mason University.  My work focuses on experimenting with the editing of moving images and sound to create emotional impact. I enjoy testing different approaches to cinematography that can shift the audience’s experience and perspective. In 2024, my film, The Audition, was featured in the George Mason “Best Of” Film Festival circuit, and my documentary, Equal Access, was featured in their 2026 circuit. I come to each project with a new approach to expand my skill set and create a fitting mood and tone.
